The expedition will take place in the Watkins
Mountain range of East Greenland, which is home to the 10 highest peaks on Greenland and Gunnbjornsfjeld which is also the highest in the Arctic. |

We fly to the Watkins Mountains on the east coast of Greenland at approximately 69°N. We intend to make as many ascents of the highest mountains in this range by telemark ski as far as possible conditions permitting. We are an international team consisting of participants from Norway, England, and Poland. All team members are now currently based in Norway. The region is characterised by alpine style mountains in a very remote location. Gunnbjørnsfjell (3693m) is the highest mountain on Greenland and in the Arctic and will be our main goal. Gunnbjørnsfjell has not been descended or traversed by telemark skiers before and this will be one of our main goals. Our secondary goal will be to ascend many of the unclimbed peaks in this area also over 3000m. In May this region being above the Arctic circle already has 24 hour daylight although the night temperatures can be expected to fall below -20°C |
